Grimsley High School
Ayumi Deyton is a valuable member of the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Athletic Training Outreach Program. She is assigned to Grimsley High School in Greensboro, North Carolina. Ayumi is a NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association, Board of Certification) certified athletic trainer, licensed by the State of North Carolina.
Ayumi is from Ellenboro, North Carolina. She graduated from Western Carolina University in May 2018 with her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. She later attended University of North Georgia while working as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Clayton State University. She graduated in July 2020, with her Master’s degree in Kinesiology.
While studying at Western Carolina, Ayumi interned as a student athletic trainer for top programs such as Stanford Wrestling and Vanderbilt Football. Upon graduation from University of North Georgia, Ayumi worked at University of Illinois Springfield in Springfield, IL as an Athletic Trainer for two years. She would then move on to work as a full time athletic trainer in the suburbs of Chicago for one year. Throughout all of her experience, she has learned that patient care is a holistic effort involving patient wellbeing, quality treatment, and research advancements.
Ayumi is now going into her 1st year at Grimsley High School as their head athletic trainer. She is extremely excited to be a part of the Sports Medicine team at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist and work as the Athletic Trainer at Grimsley High School. GO Whirles!!!!!!!
