Susan Lee Skipper is a Greensboro native and proud Grimsley alumnus, where she was a member of the last State Championship Women's Swimming & Diving Team that Grimsley won. She went on to swim at UNC Charlotte as a four year varsity team member where she specialized in 200 Butterfly.  This is her 6th year coaching the Whirlies and her third year as Head Coach after serving for three years as Assistant Coach.  She was the '21-'22 Metro 4A Conference Coach of the Year for both the Men's and Women's teams.

Susan holds a BA in English from UNC Charlotte, and a Master's (MLIS) in Library and Information Science from UNC Greensboro. She is a NC Licensed Massage Therapist and an instructor in the Massage Therapy program at GTCC. Susan also serves as an Executive Board member of the Greensboro Community Swim Association.

She loves swimming, running, and hiking long distances. She has one daughter who is currently a Whirlie.
